HK22 has become the hottest new cover technology in bowling, producing incredible reaction shape where bowlers want to see it most. The Dark Web Hybrid has the same modified Spheroid core with a dense flip block that helped make the Dark Web Solid so popular. The familiar core and addition of HK22 finished with 2000 Siaair will give Hammer fans a stronger mid-lane and backend motion.

Hammer Dark Web Hybrid
The new Hammer Dark Web Hybrid looks to be an excellent choice for a benchmark type of ball. It picks ups the mid lane nicely without grabbing too hard and has plenty of shape going through the pins. It is smooth and controllable. Where this ball separates itself from others in the "benchmark" category, in my opinion, is you are able to stay in this ball longer. When the transition forces you left, benchmark balls tend to lose energy a little early and you start leaving pesky corner pins. The DWH has a little thing called HK22 built into the cover stock, which I believe allows the ball to keep more energy and hitting power. Let's call this one a Benchmark Plus.

Dark web hybrid w/hk22
The dark web released last summer was a great benchmark symmetrical ball in the hammer line. This hybrid version pairs well as an easy step down from the dark web when the lanes transition or you want to close your angles. The addition of hk22 allows the ball to consistently pick up in the mid lane while maintaining momentum once it makes the turn. Here are a few shots with it on the house shot at Suburban Lanes. I can see this ball really excelling on flatter conditions when you need something controllable to blend the lane.
